February Activities

Feast of the “Three Holy Hierarchs” (Bishops) Wednesday, January 30th at 9AM.

There are three saintly bishops that we remember on this day—St. Basil the Great, St., John Chrysostom, and St. Gregory the Theologian. All three are remembered together because they EACH represent qualities ALL Christians should possess! St. John was an

eloquent speaker and he reminds us to serve God with our SPEECH; St. Basil started orphanages and hospitals and reminds us to serve God with our DEEDS, and St. Gregory composed many beautiful prayers and hymns and reminds us to serve God with our THOUGHTS.

Feast Day of the “Encounter with Simeon” is Friday, February 1st at 7PM.

40 Days after our Lord’s Holy Birth he was presented to the Priest of the Temple, Simeon, who recognized Him

as the Messiah, “a light to the revelation of the gentile and a glory of Israel. CANDLES are

blessed on this day. Some will be available for you, or, you may bring your own in for blessing as

well.
